A little piece of the Orient in the western Slovak hills
The spa is located in a northwestern part of Slovakia close to Trencin in one of the side valleys of central Vah River region. Altitude is 272 m above the sea level. Due its position the spa is protected from winds, as well as easily accessible to sunshine from the south. Their romantic beauty inspired the famous novelist Mor Jokai to describe them as the Pearl of Carpathian.
First written mention about the warm springs in this area dates back to 1242, detailed description comes from Tomas Jordan from Klausenburg dated 1580.
Walking into the Hamman hall in Trencianske Teplice conjures up memories of the fairy tale "One Thousand and One Arabian Nights", when Sheherezada tried to make up a new love story every night.
An indoor arcade with vaulted ceilings, beds lining the ornamented tile walls, and marble drinking fountains spouting mineral water from the springs welcome visitors to the soul of this health resort situated in the forested Teplicka valley just 10 kilometers northeast of Trencin.
